SR&R Fire Watch Catches, Prevents Fire During Industrial Tank Repair

Clients all across the Southeast trust SR&R for our “Fire Watch” service during Hot Work activities.  This month one of our clients had a shining example of how this is money well spent. During a long-term Confined Space Rescue Standby assignment where welding crews were operating inside of a chemical process tank, a member of our Fire Watch crew spotted an incipient stage fire in the bottom of the vessel. The fire was caused by welding slag igniting the sawdust left behind by the scaffold crew, but the quick action of our team meant that the issue was quickly handled. Nobody was hurt, no property was damaged, and the project timeline wasn’t delayed.  For more information on our Fire Watch and related Confined Space services listed below, please contact us.
